Played Magic the Gathering prerelease a couple times. Well organized and very friendly, love the atmosphere at one of our only WPN stores in LA. If you like Pokemon, Magic, Warhammer, or any tabletop games they most likely will hook you up!
Avoid playing Commander/EDH here unless you use proxies. All player's decks are loaded with proxies and the shop encourages it. Also, avoid bringing children or new players to any sealed deck events. There is an older woman who has been a regular sealed player for years. She is very verbally aggressive and combative to new players and children. Again Next Gen does nothing about her and allows her to play every week. This is also located in a neighborhood you do not want to be in at night so be vigilant.
Great place for MTG/TCG and tabletop games of all kinds. Very chill atmosphere and decent sized plays pace. Highly recommend.

I stopped here while visiting from out of town. I play MTG. I found the store to be nice and clean, and the two gentlemen working to be very friendly. Their selection of new inventory was great, but seemed more focused on things other than MTG. I can't speak to their singles selection. I bought a couple cards, and had a great conversation. No complaints.
Only been here twice so far (just moved to LA) and have been very happy with their Pokemon stock and service. No where else had Hidden Fates and although the set is 3 years old now, the pricing isn't outrageous. Seeing some reviews that the cards sold here are fake? That is absolutely incorrect. I have only purchased sealed Pokemon from them (previously a booster box) and was very happy with my purchase. Maybe some people need to do research before they write? The more you know!
The guys inside are nice and the location is very convenient (parking). During covid, to go support your Local Game Store is absolutely imperative. Yes times are tough for everyone right now, but if you are looking for games or collectibles or tcg's in the Los Angeles area Next Gen Games absolutely deserves your support.
Visiting from MI, we always like to stop into the local card shop. The employees were super helpful and engaged my 13 year old son in discussing ideas for his next MTG deck. If we lived in the area we would be back and will plan on stopping in next time we are nearby! Seems like a great selection of board games as well
